The Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Academy, MPRRA Renamed from Rural connectivity Training & Research centre, RCTRC is an Autonomous organization funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) under Rural Connectivity Investment Program (RCIP), which is monitored by Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority Bhopal. MPRRA is registered under Madhya Pradesh Society Registrikaran Adhiniyam 1973. It became operational on 1st April 2018 and provides training to the Engineers, State Govt. Professional, Public & Private Employees. The academy is situated on the right back of Kaliyasot Dam in Walmi Campus, which gives a panoramic view of Bhopal . The area of entire campus is 80.0 hectares.

The MPRRA - Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Academy Bhopal endeavors to develop Professional Excellence in the area of Roads and Road Transport and to undertake Research & Development (R&D) Programmes, Consultancy Services and HRD Programmes to evolve appropriate solutions to the diverse technical problems faced by the professionals. The scientific & technical objectives of MPRRA are

  • To impart Technical training to departmental engineers and contractor's engineers engaged in the construction of rural roads to make them technically strong for construction of good quality rural roads.
  • To provide necessary training for the management to construct rural roads and other assets.
  • To carry out research work to promote the construction of low-cost roads using local available materials.
  • To impart training on necessary management for the development of information / communication skills.
  • To impart training to the persion related to the Engineering department and Panchayat Raj institutions.
  • Management of contracts.
  • To carry out research on the data received from the Rural Road Network management unit for the maintenance of rural roads.
  • To impart training on Survey & investigation, design and construction of major bridges.
  • To impart training on Design supervision, construction of flexible pavement and rigid pavement.
  • Determination of priorities and guidance for maintenance of flexible pavement and rigid pavement.
  • Testing of materials used in the construction of roads.
  • Environmental safe guard and road safety measures.
  • Use of Modern Technologies in Survey work such as GIS/GPS and Total station.
  • Office management, administration and computerization.
  • To impart training on the Innovative Technology in flexible pavement such as Cold mix Technologies, use of fly ash and plastic waste.
  • To develop skills of engineers connected with the construction of rural roads.
  • To determine permanent solutions to poor quality related complaints and problems in construction works.
  • Examining high quality construction materials available in different areas and evaluating/ marking its availability.
